Overview

Forging gives a part continuous grain flow, so forged gears, shafts, and structural components carry higher strength and fatigue life than cast or bar-machined alternatives.

CMT supplies hot and cold forged steel and aluminum components through vetted manufacturing partners across Asia, with new facilities for shafts and gears in development in Thailand and Vietnam.

Typical parts include transmission, planetary, and balancing gears, pinion and gear shafts, crankshafts, connecting rods, hubs, axles, and aluminum brackets and arms for power sports, lawn and garden, automotive, and industrial equipment. Our engineers optimize grain flow and part geometry with forging simulation, and parts can ship heat treated, machined, and finished, ready for assembly. Quality labs in China and Cincinnati verify dimensions and metallurgy, and our U.S. inventory programs keep forgings on hand for just-in-time delivery.
